Project brief
Redworx delivered the mechanical Design & Build package at 16 Palace Street, supporting the creation of new CAT A office accommodation across Levels 1 and 2, together with the refurbishment of existing toilet cores.
The scheme also incorporated a new terrace space at Level 2 and winter garden areas at Level 1, enhancing the overall workplace environment for future occupiers.
Working within constraints
Delivered within a live commercial building, the project required careful coordination to maintain operational continuity for existing tenants. Tight budget parameters and programme requirements demanded robust scope management and proactive decision-making throughout delivery.
Delivering the outcome
The mechanical scope included new four-pipe fan coil units, waterside controls, modifications to chilled water and low-temperature hot water systems, fresh air and extract ventilation upgrades, secondary ductwork installations, and full testing and commissioning.
Existing services were retained and adapted wherever possible, with detailed surveys and validations undertaken to maximise value while ensuring compatibility with the new scheme.
The project successfully delivered modern, flexible office accommodation while maximising the value of existing infrastructure. Through effective coordination and commercial management, Redworx delivered a high-quality solution that met both technical and financial objectives.
