Redworx delivered the mechanical package for the refurbishment of the East Wing at The Hurlingham Club, one of London's most renowned private members' clubs.
The 938sqm renovation transformed the space into an award-winning hospitality and events venue, incorporating a new restaurant, kitchen and function spaces. The works were carefully phased to allow the Club to remain fully operational throughout construction.
Engineering the solution
The mechanical installation included new air handling units, fans, DX systems and fire-rated kitchen extract systems, alongside new ventilation serving restaurant and function spaces. Additional works included water-cooled chillers and upgrades to existing services to meet current fire safety requirements.
A temporary kitchen facility was installed to maintain uninterrupted service during construction, while major plant installations required crane lifts and detailed logistical planning within the live operational environment.
Managing a live environment
Through detailed sequencing, close stakeholder coordination and a carefully managed programme, Redworx successfully delivered the works while minimising disruption to members and staff. The completed project has created a high-quality hospitality and events facility that enhances the Club's offering while providing modern, efficient building services infrastructure to support long-term operation.
